You-Nite Fest Presents St. Rakas Day

YOU-NITE Fest, an Underwater Music Production Labs subsidiary, is a performing arts & music festival founded by Bebushka Monetti to invest in local and national talent by bridging the cultural gap amongst varying ethnic groups. For the company’s first event, Bebushka brought out Grammy Nominated duo Los Rakas by way of Oakland, CA, originally from Panama.

In addition to funding the event, Bebushka put on an incredible performance with visual aid and choreography and featured 15 other local acts that included Gio Chamba, Guzel Kandemir, Zamar Yauw, Patrico Brown, Richelle Gemini, HarKore, Imani Scott, Break it Down DC, KDollaBillz, Dewayne Martin & more. 

Introducing a new concept to what would become the world’s first artistic Black Light Maze she used 15 ft. drop cloth that hung from the venue’s ceilings to feature artwork by local artist and painter Gel-Oh who was also a part of the A GIRL HAS NO NAME Visual EP Premiere in October of 2017. It was an extraordinary piece that allowed guests to walk through an art filled glowing maze, as they made their way to the dance floor, all while interacting, being photographed courtesy of AllTheParties, and appreciating Gel-Oh’s new line of emoji figure heads. 
 
Food was provided by Skol CasBar & Boombox Taco, and complimentary drinks were served by Bar Divaz all night long. Vendors like Mija Cultura were also invited to showcase their merchandise while guests danced the night away. Bebushka was able to incorporate every unimaginable, unconventional facet making this St. Patrick’s Day one for the books in the City of Houston. 
 
Throughout the festival, a combination of Latin/Afro -Latin, Trap, EDM, House, Soca, Caribbean, R&B & Pop songs were spun by DJ A-Plus, DJ Vybz, Yams-G The DJ, and Stylo-Live leaving each guest feeling like they had their taste in music catered to while their pallets were expanded with a variety of music they had never heard before.
